Luxury Florida Gulf Coast villas & vacation rentals. We have a selection of owner direct Florida Gulf coast villa rentals. We are constantly adding to our Gulf Coast villas section. Currently we have rentals in Cape Haze, Anna Maria Island, Indian Rocks, Treasure Island and Madeira Beach. The Gulf Coast is an ideal location if you want to relax and explore the fabulous Florida beaches.
The Orlando theme parks can be very hot and tiring. A few days away at one of the Gulf Coast beach villas can really recharge the batteries. The Florida Gulf coast stretches for hundreds of miles so you have lots of choice of where to go. You are sure to find a quiet spot where you have swim in the warm waters.
The Gulf of Mexico water temperature never really gets that cold. I recently visited Treasure Island at the beginning of December and swam in the sea. The air temperature was around 75F and the sea temp was around 70F. This did feel a little cool but still amazing to be swimming in December!
Gulf of Mexico Sea Temperatures
From April to October the Gulf of Mexico sea temperature is considered warm. It’s normally above 80F (27C) and can reach 90F (32C) in July and August. There are hundreds of beaches and most you can park right next too. Parking is normally very cheap and a lot of the beaches are state parks where you pay a daily fee. The current Florida state park daily parking fee is between $3 – $8 per vehicle (2-8 people).
One of the best Florida Gulf Coast state parks that we visited is Honeymoon Island. It has over 4 miles of amazing beach and also a number of walking trails. During our walk we saw Osprey’s, gopher tortoises, Owl’s and an armadillo. There are also a number of bald eagle nests in the tops of the trees. You may get a glimpse of Americas national bird but you will need to be patient.
VR360homes Tip: Take mosquitoes repellant if you are doing any of the walking trails. Typically the Orlando area and theme parks are sprayed to keep down the mosquitoes. But the state parks don’t do this so they can be quite bad. This shouldn’t stop you from exploring the amazing Gulf Coast state parks.
If fishing is your thing then the Florida Gulf Coast offers lots of options. You can fish directly from the beach or you can charter your own private boat. We have a selection of beach front Gulf Coast villas on Anna Maria Island and Treasure Island. As well as Gulf Coast rentals on the intracoastal water ways. Ideal if you want to hire a boat as you can moor it at the back.
Gulf Coast Villas only 2 hours from Orlando
We are adding more Florida Gulf Coast villas all the time so please check back on a regular basis. If you have never visited the Gulf Coast area or beaches, I can’t stress enough how nice they are. It’s so much more relaxed compared to the busy Orlando theme park area. And a great way to enhance your Florida holiday.
The further you go down the Gulf Coast the quieter the beaches tend to be. One of our favourite areas is Cape Haze which is about 3 hours drive from Orlando but well worth it. During our stay we explored Gasparilla Island and Stump Pass Beach. As well as Boca Grande and Don Pedro Island state park where we hired kayaks. That whole area has amazing beaches with plenty to do if you want to be busy. If not just sit back relax and enjoy the amazing water seas and amazing sunsets.
