We get a number of emails each week from guests looking for Orlando vacation homes on or near International Drive so I thought I would write a short blog post to answer this questions.
As far a I know (Feb 2015) there are no private Orlando vacation villas / condos on International Drive, but just behind International Drive is Universal Blvd which has the Vista Cay Resort.
The Vista Cay Resort is made up of luxury condos and town homes around a central communal clubhouse and pool area. Vista Cay is less than 2 minutes from the SeaWorld Orlando theme park and located pretty much behind the Orange County Convention Center which hosts many business trade shows throughout the year from one of the biggest golf trades shows in the world in January to MegaCon which is Orlando's comic con and is scheduled for April 10-12 2015.
The Vista Cay Resort clubhouse is open to all guests staying on site and has a large pool / spa area with plenty of sun loungers on the multi level deck area, there is also a swallow Kiddie pool and basket ball court.
Inside the Vista Cay clubhouse is a video arcade room, state of the art fitness center, movie theatre which shows movies throughout the day and also has a selection available so you can choose what's shown. There is also an computer room with free internet just incase you didn't bring your laptop or iPad.
If you are visiting Orlando on business or attending one of trade shows the Vista Cay Resort clubhouse also has meeting rooms available so you can easily mix business and pleasure.
One of the best reasons to stay at the Vista Cay Resort is it's proximity to International Drive which is currently undergoing a make over with new attractions like the iDrive 360 complex which is set to open shortly (May 2015) and features the Orlando Eye, Madume Tussauds wax museum and the Orlando Sea Life aquarium. There are also a number of restaurants now open at iDrive 360 which include Carrabba's Italian Grill, Outback Steakhouse, Yard House and the Tin Roof.
Vista Cay is less than 2 minutes drive from the iDrive 360 complex, there are also lots of other restaurants to choose from along International Drive so you will find something to cater for everyone.
If you like movies then as well on the onsite movie room at the Vista Cay Resort, there is a 20 screen Regal Cinema + IMAX at the Pointe Orlando. Pointe Orlando is another complex which features shops, restaurants and the previously mention Regal Cinema, this is less than 2 minutes drive from the Vista Cay Resort.
As you can see staying in one our Vista Cay condos would be a great choice with so much to do right on your doorstep.
